Posted By Jay Joshi It is not at all an issue with the list for EN & BS standards for PPE as UK is a member of the European Union and has signed up to the various treaties for free movement of various categories of "equipment" The EU relies heavily on the standardization to reduce technical barriers to trade for products and services whilst assuring appropriate levels of safety and performance. BSI, the UK Standards body provides a means to participate in European standards activities through the two European standards organizations: the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) the European Committee for Electro-technical Standardization (CENELEC). European Standards are usually adopted as British Standards In essence, all EU "harmonised" standards that are made to support the free movement of various categories of "equipment" have to be adapted by member states. All that happens is that the National Standards body of individual EU member state will formally adopt/transpose the EN. For UK, it is mostly a matter of ading the pre-fix BS in front of EN! There is a list of sorts at:- http://www.hse.gov.uk/lau/lacs/68-7.htm Although the list is only with prefix EN, all these standards will also be British Standards.

Try the Ansell Healthcare website, they manufacture PPE and their site contains details of EN420, EN374 standards etc, with details of the various glove standards and the meaning of the various logos used on gloves.
