Posted By Michael Battman I am currently implementing an ISO 14001 system for my employer, a firm of architects. One of the requirements of the standard is to keep an up-to-date list of relevant Environmental legislation. I am looking at Croner's Environmental Management, but the price at over £500 seems very steep. Are there any other manuals available out there that include a subscription service that guarantees regular updates at a more sensible price?

Posted By Simon Shaw It might be worth them buying the Pollution Handbook from the 'National Society for Clean Air and Environmental Protection'. http://www.nsca.org.uk/pages/shop/online_sales.cfm It is published annually and is very good at £55. Having a look around the Environment Agency website is also useful. I don't subscribe to Croners or similar and am able to keep up to date with legislation.

Posted By Christopher Long Here are some resources I use to maintain our management system: Subscription 1. www.hsedirect.com (health, safety and environmental - low cost subscription around £240 per annum, excellent) Free 1. www.netregs.gov.uk 2. www.hse.gov.uk 3. www.opsi.gov.uk 4. www.odpm.gov.uk 5. www.environment-agency.gov.uk 6. www.defra.gov.uk Information coming from the EU: 1. www.europe.org.uk Don't forget the free environment and energy helpline on 0800 585 794. Also worth looking at local business support. Hope this helps

Posted By Lloyd Briscoe I keep the Environment Agency's main website and their Netregs bookmarked in my "Favourites" folder. The information provided is constantly up-to-date, and your 'list' is therefore held electronically. An auditor would be hard pressed to disagree that this wasn't compliance with ISO:14001... Much cheaper than Croners too........!
