Posted By JGRL I am currently doing a report for management on 'poor working conditions' but need specific examples with solutions from various sectors so wonder if anyone can guide me here. I thought of coal mining (which has always been associated with poor working conditions) and the cotton mills during the industrial revolution. I am also interested in bad environments like call centres and some other examples that others can think of. Anything to get the excecutive board to focus on health and safety. JRL

Posted By Bob Youel all you need to do is look at the smaller garment indusries ['sweat shops'], gang masters, small construction and, grounds maintenance works in 2007 not 1807 to see poor working conditions Additionally you need to define 'poor working conditions' as any power station outage has appalling conditions re dirt etc but the moral is very high as people are earning >£1000 a week - so its not just the physical conditions but also the mental conditions [gangmasters etc] that must be assessed Remember 'poor' for a westerner may be 'fantastic' for a third world person [wrong as it is] Additionally call your local EHO's as they have stories that will help re employers today not just yesterday
