I wonder if any of the local employers had considered the earthquake risk in their emergency planning? Has their been any previous experience of the phenomenon in the area?

I hadn't heard of an earthquake in Kent and I'm a bit surprised given the geology in the area. north of England and Scotland would be more of a worry.
I do work with companies around the French/Swiss/Italian alps and in the North of France and they do take the risk seriously.
Basic advice is "if it starts to go wobbly get out into the car park but stay away from the cars which could go Bouncy-Bouncy" And stay there for at least an hour, there may be aftershocks.
Place I went to a while back still had tree trunks supporting the roof as the main pillars had cracked during a recent quake.
