Hello
I'm looking into the way our deliveries and transport can be arranged. at present most of the lines on the road have worn out and need redoing, we have up to 40 deliveries a day from white vans to artics and at the moment a complete lack of signage. also there is only one entrance/exit to complicate things. any advice or guidance would be great.

Try these pages:

That should give you a good start. Workplace transport is a priority inspection topic for the HSE and local authorities at the moment. You need to look at organisation of traffic routes, siting of parking and loading/unloading spaces, pedestrian walkways etc to name but a few.

To add:
The situation you have seems like an ideal opportunity to have a re-jig of the layout of the yard, if your white lines have all but disappeared.
I would suggest getting hold of a site map, and looking at the link I gave you.
You'll want to consider whether or not vehicles need to reverse or turn at any point, where they will do this, whether you will provide trained banksmen, how you will keep people out of the area whilst vehicles are moving, where drivers will go whilst goods are being unloaded - I presume you're using forklifts, so driver training, speed limits, reverse alarms, safe pedestrian walkways, risk of goods falling from vehicles, risk of people falling - do goods need to be sheeted/unsheeted.... the list goes on!
