Posted By Lee Mac Hi,
What would be the tying in requirements of 4-5 storey Kwikstage scaffolding? i.e. how often should it be tied into the building?
Glazing is also due to go in- so if any of these ties were to be removed- rakers also would need to be used in this instance, what would be the normal distance between each raker.
The ground would be classified as of hard ground.
This is purely for inspection purposes only but I want to keep it right.
Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Lee

If you get in touch with the manufacturers, they should be able to provide you with the Kwikstage Scaffolding Handbook which answers your question.
Cannot find my copy.
Off the top of my head, I think the recommended pattern is every fourth standard (+ any end standard) and every other lift.
Regards, Peter

Posted By Ron Hunter Also, the day I find a raker pole actually installed in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions, I'll let everyone know. A scaffold tube (attached by a coupling at the top) and 'resting' vaguely on a piece of wood which is itself merely lying flat on the ground, does not offer any proper structural support!

Posted By Lee Mac Thanks guys for your help- I totally agree with Bob on the issue of the rakers- I feel like I am banging my head against a brick wall with some so called "competent" scaffolders.
I tried your link Bob but to no avail- can you direct me a bit more on the interserve site.
Cheers,
Lee

Posted By J.D.F Lee,why not use Hilti ties directly into the wall surface then you can do away with the 'window' ties altogether !.

Posted By Lee Mac It's a timber frame building- there are a few specific ties out there for this type of work. I was looking for the specifics of spacing of rakers and the amount of ties it would be normal to have for a building of this size.
Cheers
Lee
