I have just had a stairmate presented to me for use in a stairwell where it is not practicable for various reasons to erect a stair tower or tube and fitting scaffold. The work is short duration and low risk (Decorating). The item is TUV tested but there is no CE or BS markings. Has anyone else come across this product and can this legally be used at work in the UK. Any comments or thoughts would be welcomed.

I see their website (google search) has a "contact us" section. You could enquire as to essential safety approvals.

Ron,

I have already been in contact with both Stairmate, TUV Rheinland, BSI and our insurers and I am still awaiting responses.

Many thanks

Mick
