Re; my previous discussion thread on this subject.(2005). I have notice of a Deputy Head of Health and Safety adviser banded at a 6. No word on banding for the Head of Department though.
Do any advisers working for the NHS have any updates on their's or their colleague's bandings?
Regards.

I think you will find that 6/7 is about the average/ There are cases of 8 but they tend to have to be able to do everything, have responsibility for staff and strategy.

I completed an agenda for change form, and even though I gave honest examples, I was forced to change them on the grounds that the Agenda for Change panel wouldn't understand them. That is where the problem lies. Those on the panel do not understand the role and the level of experience and skills, and the potential for the use of the advice or failure to advise appropriately can have on an organisation.

I would advise you to contact your local network within the NHS and do a round robin email as to what others have been awarded, and for a copy of their job descriptions.

I went to a JAQ, still waiting to hear, not too hopeful.
