From time to time, we may need to transport small amounts of chemicals in our company van. Can anyone confirm what the thresholds are (if there are any) before we need to start displaying the appropriate warning signs (e.g. flammable)?

Products classified as flammable under ADR by are a fall within transport category 3. The threshold limit would be 333 litres.

Although you're below there are still safety obligations. It worth visiting the HSE site for guidance on vehicle design and marking, training, labelling and packaging requirements etc.

When any of you are transporting Chemicals here is a web site that will help you understand the transport of dangerous good.

if you cannot find what you are looking for you should employ a dangerous goods safety adviser as per the 2000 regulations
