Posted By John Watson That got you all looking and the moderators sweating!!! I have just seen a job in our local paper, extolling its virtues of company pension scheme, holidays, overtime and......... wait for it........ PPE!!!! Since when did PPE become a benefit to sell a job! I can just see the scene, person sitting in their office, thinking about new horizons, "ooh I will apply for that, I get some of that new fangled PPE stuff!" The mind (as always) boggles.
Regards
John

Posted By John Watson No, the ad already mentions pensions in an earlier sentence.

Posted By Merv Newman Come on. I've worn glasses for the last 30 years and never ever paid for them. They always come out as PPE, paid by the employer.
And my current pair, being worn at this moment, have clip-on side guards. (in the car glove box)
And I have one pair of "town shoes" but three pairs of safety shoes : one for heavy work, one for gardening and one for wearing at the clients. Leather gloves ? company buys them by the dozen. "midwife" pvc gloves ? buy them by the hundreds.
PPE is a definite benefit and should be taxed. Same basis as a company car.
Cats/pigeons anyone ?
Merv (Just because it is thursday, doesn't any one want to be controversial ?)

Posted By John Watson I like your style Merv. I am just about to sugest to the MD that a set of Paul Smith Suits with a Teflon coating is just the sort of PPE required!!!!

Posted By Debbie S Hi- Visibility waistcoats - I always have a few stashed in the car for visiting other sites - also very handy for when push biking in the Lake District - bike shops charge a fortune for hi-vis clothing for cyclists....

They are no use in the Peaks for that job because the motorcyclists cannot even see solid double white lines when they go over them
