PDA - Handheld computers for site inspections
Rank: Guest
|
Posted By Paul Gil I have started using a PDA to record the findings of site inspections, however I am having problems with the format of the report etc, resulting in spending more time formatting reports which defeats the purpose of using the PDA in the first place
Can anyone recommend a type of PDA to be used when carrying out site inspections
Also a suitable software package for this purpose.
Thanks for any help you can offer on this
Paul

Posted By AlB I have used a software from ANT (Advanced New Technology) to conduct Site Inspections. It is a decent programme and can be modified to include any informaiton you want to include in your inspection. They also develop software for auditing, accident investigation and quality inspections. I have some negative issues with regards to the programme as well. You can only attach one photo at a time to each "issue" you identify on site, which is a shame, and the hub programme can not easily be manipulated to the extent that I would like. Having said that, I have found relatively easy solutions to each problem and do rate the programme quite highly. The website is: www.a-n-t.com
