Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a training course for site operatives who specialise in strip out and refit.

The training should cover Asbestos, portable access scaffold, fire safety (extinguisher use) and anything else relevant to the industry.

I'm thinking of a one or two day course, or even a series of courses.

We are Merseyside based and can only release a few persons at a time.

If there are such courses out there, or if anyone can tailor such a course please respond to this thread, or email me direct.

Many thanks for the expected response.

Crim,

CITB Have recently introduced a "Safety for Shopfitters and Interior Contractors Course" as part of the new "Site Safety Plus" training regime.

CITB at Bircham Newton should be able to provide you with details of the course and accredited training providers.

Unfortunately, this is the one course we did not seek accreditation for.

Hope this helps

Martyn,

Thanks for the info.

Do you know if the CITB course covers everything we need, if not could you fill in the gaps?

I will now try CITB.

Best regards

Chris

I think that you are looking for several different training disciplines here. I have used a trainer from the Stoke On Trent area for Asbestos Awareness, (a mandatory course for any kind of refurbishment activity). I have a course running this Thursday if you would like to sit in on it 09:00 to 12:00 or 13:00 to 16:00 in the Runcorn area. I used Merseyside fire brigade for Fire Warden training which included using extinguishers. For Portable Access Equipment I attended the recent presentation arranged by the Merseyside IOSH branch and I can give you that man's contact details if you wish.
