Posted By Richard Beevers Has anyone come across a medically confirmed case of air conditioning being the cause of stiff neck / shoulder muscles?
I have a c.40 female employee who is complaining of this, but her GP refuses to give a medical diagnosis - just says that the A/C is responsible.
I've carried out a DSE assessment, and we've got her workstation good. She doesn't sit under any direct draughts. Without a proper medical diagnosis I'm not sure what to suggest. Next stop is our OH provider.
Any interim ideas?
Al.

Posted By Garry Homer It is possible if the air is particularly cold. I suffer the same when I open the window next to me, even if I am not aware of the air flow.
Bloody painful

Posted By Bob Shillabeer Mmm, There seems to be a bit of putting the point to the doctor by the employee here, unless of couse the doctor knows the work location? I suggest you talk to the employee and find out what is happening here. Ask her to explain and show you what she thinks is causing the problem. It could be that she is not sitting in the best place and the injury is as a result of this. Don't try and get out of it, it is better to do something however small this may be to get her on side again. Then find out exactly what needs to be done and do it if possible.
