Has anyone safe systems of work for handling of rolls of carpet, they may be willing to share? Especially looking for use of the multiple roll racks with 4/5 rolls each side.

Any information very much appreciated.

The research Chris refers to was carried out by the health and safety laboratory Ref; HSL/2007/19 - "Typical manual handling activities performed in retail carpet stores:the risks and how to reduce them". As you would expect, lots of in-depth analysis and guidance, although it does inevitably suggest avoidance by using mechanical handling devices.
