Hi All,
The care home inspectorate CSCI have stated as a statuatory requirement that ALL radiators in care homes(elderly) require covers. Not just those in bedrooms, which I can understand the potential risk. But not in open corridors where they are only 54cms h & have a hand rail above. Has anyone used risk assessment to challenge a CSCI salutatory requirement & won ???
Regards, Paul

I believe they require them to protect residents if they fall and lay against a radiator whilst unconcious, resulting in burned skin. Of course you would have thermostatic controls on them and on the boiler but there is still a risk of failure - hence the covers
Sense?????
