Posted By GavinR Hi,
I'm sorry if I'm asking something everyone has poss discussed before but I'm just reviewing the new CDM regs as a potential client in the future. I'm making myself aware of our duties but wanted to clarify an issue with you guys out there who are experienced CDM professionals. I'm aware in the old CDM regs that the Planning Supervisor (now CDM-C) was required to prepare a Pre-Tender H&S Plan to be issued to all tendering contractors. Is this requirement still in the regs? I can see reference to collection of information to be provide to designers and PC's- i take it this is just another way of saying the Pre-Tender plan? Sorry if this is very basic question but any advice would be appreciated.
Cheers, Gav

Posted By Clarke Kent the 2nd The Pre Tender H&S plan is now referred to as Pre Construction Information.
Pre Construction Information must be specific to the project/site etc, with the intention to stop rubbish CDM-c's producing 40 pages of generic crap.
The Pre Construction Information/CDM-c is only required for notifiable projects now.

Posted By Robert K Lewis The information pack is intended to be essentially different from the old Pre-tender Plan. The CDMC role being to manage the information flow. Unfortunately most clients are not yet able to see that this means the information pack should look very different to the old document. They will pay on the PTP type format but refuse to recognise the work involved in the pack as the number of pages involved is reduced, being replaced by more extensive time involved in discussions and meetings.
Having said that if you look at Appendix 2 of the new acop you will see that the HSE are talking both ways at one and the same time. The content according to them is not significantly reduced from the old PTP.
