Hi all, I'm currently advising a serviceman about the possibility of lodging a personal injury claim against the Ministry of Defence. Does anyone know of any lawyers who specialise in this type of claim. Many thanks. CH

There used to be a solicitor based in Lincolnshire, GIlbert Blades, highly respected and equally disliked by the RAF / MOD. I am going back some years now so not sure if he still has a practice.

Cheers, Richie

Hi there,

Further to the enrty re. Gilbert Blades.
He no longer takes cases as such (it is now his daughter), their main interest is Defence in court martial cases.
Dependent when you left the mob (which branch?), if less than 5 years ago, you will have to go through the route of the Armed Forces Compensation Scheme.
The other alternative will be the Veterans Agency, this will all depend on your grievance.
If you want anymore info please e-mail me

Thanks

Ken

The British Legion have solicitors that are there to assist ex-serving forces with claims.
For a lot of the 'older' blokes (those that could not claim whilst in - they can now!) The British Legion is their first port of call! try the local branch.

I agree with LynneR, RBL is the best place to go, please start there.
