With regard to exposing employees to asbestos by not having located and recorded that asbestos debris existed in a pipe duct an NHS Trust was taken to court. This months SHP reports the outcome as:-

South Tees Hospitals NHS Trust pleaded guilty to breaching s2(1) of HSWA 1974 by not ensuring the safety of its employees. The Trust was given a two-year conditional discharge for the offence and told to pay partial HSE costs of £7531.

Can anyone tell me to whom the conditional discharge applied, the corporate body or an individual?

I presume that it was the Trust - They will I think be fined for this offence if found guilty of another offence within the next two years. I suppose this could include INs or PNs - need to look at the precise judgement.
