Is anyone else experiencing repeated delays with the RTITB sending out licence cards?

We contract out our training and the training provider says they have constant problems with the time it takes to get the licence and the number of times that the RTITB loses the photos that have been sent in with the application. We rarely had a problem when the training provider was permitted to issue the licence cards.

Does anyone at the RTITB know what the problem is? I have been waiting over 3 months and have been told the photo IDs have been lost and have to be resent.

What is our position with regards to providing evidence of training if we do not have the formal licence or certificate (the certificate is issued by the training provider)?

Hi Shelagh,

I am the administration manager at RTITB and am sorry to hear that you have had “repeated delays”.

This is an unusual situation as we publish a 10 working day turnaround for all correct applications. In June we achieved an average turnaround of 3.81 days and in July a 3.96 average turnaround across the 4 NORS options.

I note that you mentioned “Photo IDs have been lost”, this is a possibility after posting as we do occasionally experience problems with the delivery of the cards once they have left us. As I am sure you can appreciate we can do little to improve the postal service we receive. However when this situation does occur the cards are re-ordered within 2 working days of notification to us and then posted out again.

I would like to ask you to contact me directly on 01952 520200 so that I can look into the cards you are waiting for and properly address your specific case.
