I have been approached by a memeber staff asking me if we can attach a seatbelt to one of our wheelchairs we use in our college establishment, I am unaware of any law for this can anyone advise me please, The wheelchair is kept in the reception area therfore is not owned by anyone specifically.

Can anyone help.

Hi Sian, I don't know specifically about the law but we had a really nasty accident recently which would have been prevented had the person been wearing their seatbelt.

I think it would be a good precaution to fit one to the wheelchair and then the person using it can choose whether to wear it or not..
