Hi

I am currently going through the process of putting together the above course for our staff that have already done a Managing Safely, and getting IOSH approval as a tailored course.

IOSH have provided a standard syllabus for this, but it seems that I shall be re-inventing the wheel with powerpoints and course materials etc.

Would anyone be prepared to share with me their recert. materials (bearing in mind that I do not represent a commercial interest?!)

Many thanks

Having just left an department where Managing Safely was taught, students were informed that the certificate was not lifed. I am not aware of the requirements for recertification.

I was told that IOSH did for a short while life the certificates given out, but was recinded and lifed cert's can be exchanged for a corrected version. If anyone out there knows differently please reply and I'll inform my previous boss.

Phil

Dear Phil

Here is an extract from IOSH's Managing Safely Recertification trainers guidance:

"IOSH recommends that Managing Safely certificate holders attend a Managing Safely Re-certification course at least every three years. Note that holders of certificates more than four years old will not be eligible for a new certificate via the Managing Safely Re-certification course. These certificate holders will have to attend a full Managing Safely course if they wish to obtain a new certificate."

This is for the old version, there is no recertification course yest for the new one.

Regards

Hi Chris
Will IOSH recertify you for the old course materials, given that there is a new course which they are keen to promote (with commercial interest in mind) -be useful to know their stance on this

IOSH are very tight on the recertification rules as I recently found out, so beware, and make sure they have certificates numbers handy

regards
Chris

Chris

We are running the new course, but have a large number of Managers who did the old course.

Strangely, our recertification courses must follow an IOSH syllabus based on the old version, not an update to resemble the new course ie. it covers legislation etc. but does introduce new subjects such as the Environment.

We must produce the course materials and get them approved as a tailored course (plus £495 = vat)

I guess recerts for the new course will be a future tailored course!
