Posted By William Wright I am working on developing a working at heights procedure or permits to work for in side our factory building. Has anyone got any of these in place or suggestions? Your help will be much appreciated.
Thanks Billy

Posted By William Wright Thanks Ian, I am sure that I can use your information. Could I also ask you a small question? If you have a room built within the factory would you class working on top of the room working on a roof or working at heights within the factory? Hope you can help with this.....BILLY

Posted By David Bannister Hi Billy, the old 2 metres "rule" is no longer in force and any work where a fall can result in injury must now be considered dangerous, requiring some form of control.
Your small room may be around 2.5m high and a fall from this height can have very serious consequences. Is the edge guarded, is the ceiling sufficiently strong to bear weight, what are the access arrangements etc etc.
Risk assessment required I'm afraid.
