Hi Warren
Don't know if this helps but if you look on the NASS website you can get a free download of the latest guidance on this very subject. This one supercedes INDG 313 and outlines what should be included in a risk assessment.

In practical terms, try to eliminate the manual handling from this type of operation.
Use the Hiab feature on a lorry and insist on one to be made available if not fitted to your supply lorry.
Our smaller steel stock is loaded via Hiab onto wheeled trolleys that can be pushed into storage positions within our engineering stores.
The larger longer sections are stocked on external racks and loaded directly onto the racks via the crane mechanism of the lorry, guided by our employees with noose like rope attachments to prevent swing of the moving loads.
I know that this may not suit all delivery types and storage areas, but this is our way of coping with the steel deliveries on our site.
My advice would always be to eliminate or greatly reduce any prospect of manual handling as part of these lifting tasks.
Hope it is of some use.

If using a crane to unload :- is the load pre-slung? If not how is the Slinger to gain safe access to the load on the vehicle bed? What fall prevention or mitigation is used on/around the vehicle?
I advise the use of a small set of podium steps for access/egress and bean bags around the vehicle.
