Posted By D Could someone please advice me on the following. My sister lives in a HMO block on the eleventh floor. She has stated that she has never had a fire drill but has been provided with information on the procedure which is to stop in the flat when the alarm is activated. She also rsides next to a person who is 79 who uses the lift. With the new Fire safety Order, shorly my sister should not stay in the building but to leave and wait outside. Is this correct.

Posted By Raymond Rapp I am not a fire specialist or too familiar with private dwellings, however, I would have thought that once he fire alarm has been raised everyone should evacuate the building. There may be special circumstances where a person is an invalid and they will require assistance, otherwise the principle is to get out fast!
Under the RRFO training and risk assessment are integral part of the regulations. I think a further and more intrusive examination is warranted for the fire procedures of this building.
