Posted By Dean Tonks Im currently struggling to identify when to use the weekly LEPw as opposed to the daily LEPd. My understanding at the moment is that the weekly ready reckoner chart is used if an operation is only undertaken on specified days i.e. say monday and tuesday. By adding up those points over two days then the LEPw is at a lower level to the LEPd. The other consideration then would be that for wed, thurs and friday the employee is not exposed to any other significant noise i.e. an LEPd of below 80dB. What about P/T workers?
All help would be appreciate!

Posted By Smurfer For part-time workers I would suggest using the daily LEPd rather than using their 'days-off' to bring down the LEPw. My reason being that you don't know what other work they are doing (legally) on their 'days-off' - they may be exposed to significant noise in the 'other' job as well as with you.

Posted By mike morland Hi Dean
Could it be that your confusion may be as a result of insufficient training on this subject.
I tried to establish the noise levels at my company a few years and got into a similar situation but I had no formal training and also our insurance company said that they preferred an independent company to do the Noise Survey.
This has obvious advantages.
Good Luck
