Posted By Debbie S I vaguely heard a news report on the TV earlier this week about Bournemouth Council banning the use of arm bands because Health & Safety said there is a big increase in spread of germs.
I didn't here the beginning of the report so am unsure if its arm bands that they loan out or whether it was the use of personal arm bands as well. Was it in fact aimed at the inflation of the arm bands or once they were in the water
Did anyone else hear anything about it. Surely the potentail for a child drowning far outweighs germ warfare

Posted By N Smith They stopped lending them out to the public.
We stopped lending arm bands out about three years ago. The cross contamination was an issue but we felt the risk of the arm band failing whilst in use was also a problem.

Posted By Debbie S Thanks for that - I had a sad picture of all armbands being banned and children not being able to swim
