Posted By GavinR Hi Folks,
Just a quick question to ask if anyone has gone down the route of introducing Elasticated cuffs on overalls in machine workshops? Has anyone had any issues with this or is it an approved standard in machinery workshops? Our contract is up for renewal with overall suppliers and we are considering making amendments to our current overall design to help reduce potential entanglement issues with machinery. This hazard is already at a low risk due to our current controls but every little helps.
Cheers,Gav

Posted By Merv Newman Gav,
our rule was always "no loose clothing" and that was good for anywhere in production : buttoned down sleeves, no floating ties, tucked in shirts.
I personally have a problem with elasticated cuffs. After a time they start to cut in and leave the dreaded crinkle mark.
Suggest you get a few sample garments and have them tested by employees.
As a second thought, you might consider Lycra.

Posted By Geoff Parkinson We use velcro tabs. They are fully adjustable and everyone seems to like them.

Posted By Dave West We had all our overalls with elasticated cuffs though for the overalls that have not changed yet we have plastic elasticated cuffs to put on.
