Hello
I have been contacted by our landlords for advice regarding their engineers working on the roof. He has sent me the following mail:

"Access to the roof is by way of a compliant ladder terminating in a small platform on the centre line of the slightly convex roof approximately half way along. The roof is substantial cladding on steel frame, except for a small area at one end which is glazed.

From the platform it is required to turn left and walk along the roof centre line to access the traverser for glass cleaning. Similarly, to turn right to access the flue terminals of the boilers and generators."

I am not an expert in this field. Could anyone advise me on suitable controls which could be suggested to make access to the traverser and the flue terminals safe? Workmen are currently walking on the roof edge(yes, there is a significant drop!) to get to either side. They do not use a harness. There is no netting. Apparently they crawl along the edge and stand up when they are past the edge.

Are there any specialist companies who I could put the landlords in contact with to arrange suitable safety controls?
