Posted By Ronan I was wondering if anyone can tell me if a Polish Forklift license applies in the UK.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Posted By Pat Hannaway Hi Ronan, there is no such a thing in the UK as a forklift truck driving licence. What is issued is a Certificate of Competence. Most training companies who train and assess FLT operatives recommend that they be re-assessed every three years (although there is no statutory requirement to do so.)
Regarding the specific Polish "licence", do you know what assessment was carried out and by whom?. The polish FLT operator may be perfectly capable and highly experienced. However, if you employed this person and there was an accident, you may be asked to prove that the person had received suitable information, instruction and training. Could you prove that they had?
There are many reputable trainers out there who can offer assessments to determine the competence of FLT operators in accordance with various nationally accreditated standards. It may be worthwhile getting quotatations from some to carry out an operator assessment.
