Posted By Scott Carr Can anyone tell me of a good safety management system which they have running. I feel that the company I am with could benefit from one.
But not sure what is best or if the are all just out to make money?
If I have all my systems already in place, is it just another certificate or are they a worthwhile process to go through.

Posted By leethorne I would suggest a good starting point would be a review of OHSAS 18001 and HSG 65 Successful Health and Safety Management.
This would allow you to decide the best route for your Company and the most appropriate safety management system. I would also suggest as a knowledgeable person within your field, you would be best placed to undertake the drafting and implementation of the system, rather than funding others to provide such a service. Different companies will require different systems, as such and so as not to cloud the underlying purpose, starting from the bottom up/from scratch may the be best approach.
The key to its success relies in the main with the Company Management subscribing to the system to be adopted, and recognising its long term benefits from the outset.

How are you mate, good I hope. thanks for the response, it really is as I imagined. however, proving to clients the commitment is easier with a recognised system. We may go down that route, not sure yet.
