What level of health surveillance is required for operatives who come into contact with lead flashing?

Is it a blood test once a year or a more thorough check required?

Regards.

A yearly blood test should be appropriate. However, the level and manner of usage would also be relevant. Are they just fitting the flashing, if so good hygiene standards and welfare facilities would be required to stop potential ingestion, but would still have to be sgnificant to be a problem. If they are lead welding then the fumes may be a problem. Frequency of task? etc etc. Speak to a occy health person and they should advice.

The lead in air measurement is important as well as the blood measurements.

The lead in air measurement indicates what is inhaled during the shift. The blood level tells you precisly the amount entering into the body -(whether through inhalation and/or other routes)
