Good morning,

I am in the process of expanding our UK Management System to cover our operations in France, Holland, Germany, Belgium and Switzerland. I need to know if I can simply translate our current system into the native tongue of these countries? (In which case reference to HSAWA will probably be meaningless to many!).
Can I translate our Health and Safety Policy Statement into the native tongue and then use UK legislation (six pack etc) as best practice in Europe?
Or,
Do I need to establish a completely different management systems for each country? If so has anyone done this and can they offer any assistance/guidance?

As you can imagine any help would be very much appreciated!!

Regards,
Kevin

Its a tricky one, but I would research this site (below) as each country will have its own laws. The six pack is not necessarily constant across EU countries as the ones you are referring to have been adapted to UK laws see the 'forward and notice of approval (usually page 4 or 5)

Hi, I'm in exactly the same position, I've been asked to transfer all our OHSMS over to new branches in France and Italy, so any help I find I'll ping over to you. Although given what I'm coming up against so far I wouldn't hold my breath !!
