Posted By Hannah W Good afternoon.
Could someone please advise me if there are rules and regs. with reference how many employees plus desks etc. can fit in a workspace? The reason being that were looking to relocate staff into different areas and rooms within the business and i want to make sure its done correctly and they have the required amount of workspace each.
Thanks in advance.

Posted By CJP Look at: Workplace health, safety and welfare A short guide for managers http://www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/indg244.pdfThis is an extract:- Room dimensions and space Workrooms should have enough free space to allow people to move about with ease. The volume of the room when empty, divided by the number of people normally working in it, should be at least 11 cubic metres. All or part of a room over 3.0 m high should be counted as 3.0 m high. 11 cubic metres per person is a minimum and may be insufficient depending on the layout, contents and the nature of the work. You could also look at the ACOP for the Regs. - L24
