Posted By David S We are shortly to commence removal of a substantial amount of paint containing lead from woodwork in old offices.
Can anyone point me in the right direction for the correct removal methods (burning off is the most practical way), PPE & ventilation requirements and any disposal considerations.
Any help would be gratefully received.
Thanks

Posted By David S Yes, Dave, never a dull moment.
Thanks for that.
Have now also googled (should have done that first) and found some more useful info.
Thanks again

Posted By Ron Hunter Worth considering the relative costs of replacing the woodwork (pre-finished materials are available) -v- stripping and repainting?

Lead burn off should be a no no in this day and age unless under very special special situations
Get competent advice noting that the Control of Lead regs and Environmental law applies as starters for 10
look at alternative ways of refurbishing etc

Posted By Ron Hunter Agree Bob. David S could also consider overcladding in preference to messt & time consuming wet strip.
