Posted By James Perry All,
Could someone please confirm which poster it is that we are required to display for abrasive wheels. I have contacted our supplier (who have a selection of 3) but they can't tell us which one is required by the HSE).
Any relevant info would be appreciated.
Thanks
Jim

I thought the statutory requirement to display a poster was revoked by the Health and Safety Information for Employees (Modifications and Repeals) Regulations 1995 (which took effect on 1 January 1996).

Posted By MT Possibly a blue pictogram sign showing a person wearing eye protection. As per the Safety Signs and Signals Regs 1996, mandatory signs are blue, and usually used to show what PPE is mandatory for use of the piece of equipment.

Posted By s mac James, I normally use the "ABRASIVE WHEELS SAFETY Dangers and Precautions" large laminated blue and white poster, which has written instructions and pictures of machinery, as well as the pictograms for p.p.e. etc
I don't know if we are allowed to mention actual companies on line but it is available from a well known provider of health and safety supplies based in Banbury and is listed in their catalogue under Statutory and Information notices, priced around £30.
Hope this helps.
