Posted By Hazel Harvey Stuart, The number of credits you would award for CPD would very much depend on who you are and at what stage in your health and safety career. For an Affiliate Member it would be perfectly acceptable to allocate up to 3 credits per day depending on either the development or maintenance aspects of the day's course work. For other categories of membership it would be expected that there wouldn't be any allocation of credits as a Managing Safely course should be below the level of the pre-existing qualifications that gave the membership category. However, if attendance at the course gave some refreshment of current knowledge it could be argued (and this would be done in the reflection attached to the allocation) that possibly 1 credit should be given.
So to cut a long story short, really the answer is none but there could be circumstances for some individuals where it could be possible.
If you are delivering the course for the first time then credits could be allocated as part of your development. This would not usually be the case for subsequent delivery of the course.
The arbitrator of whether something is CPD allocatable is really whether you can justify the claim to yourself. IOSH CPD is flexible and it belongs to each individual so this is going to be different for different individuals.
