Posted By Paul Leadbetter Ellen The type of anemometer will depend on the sort of measurements you want to take; what is suitable for measuring, say, velocities into a partial enclosure will not be suitable for measuring velocities in ductwork. You can hire instruments here: http://www.airflowinstruments.co.uk/hiredirect/if you want to try out different instruments. Paul

Posted By The toecap I got one off Ebay for doing crane lifts. It was new and my employer refused to pay the £30. So i told them to get somebod else to do the banking and slinging. And they did. It cost them £85 per day. Good management and ecconomics i'd say.

Posted By Ellen E Bunting Hi folks
Thanks for the replies, the anemometer that I need is for measuring wind speed while working on a mast climber, I just want to be sure that all the boxes are ticked.
Although the weather has been great for this type of work I think it best to be prepared as its never to good for very long.
