Has anyone any experience of these type of batteries igniting? One of our IT chaps has shown me loads of info' on YouTube and similar to make his point that they are horribly dangerous and need to be controlled in the work environment.
It appears that if the battery is abused e.g. in a model aeroplane crash, slicing with a stanley knife or hitting with a hammer they can ignite spontaneously with a very hot relatively short lived flame.
Incidentally, it looks like all Nokia 'phones have this type of battery as standard as well as many PC's so given the number out there if there were a significant problem I'm sure it would have come to light by now. To placate them I have sent a spare Flam' cabinet for them to keep all spare batteries in.

John,
Nokia are in the process of a major recall of these type of batteries, I have just had mine replaced and all other company Nokia phones have had their's replaced, About six months ago we had to check batteries in our lap tops for the same reason with some batteries being replaced. So it seems there must be something in the reports.
regards
Phil
