We have a bag of granules that have been used to soak up some hydraulic oil. Hazardous waste or can I seal bag and put in with general waste?

Hydraulic oil is classed as hazardous waste and cannot be placed within your normal non-hazardous waste streams. Wish it could it costs my company an arm and a leg to dispose of waste.

I note however that the University of East Anglia have worked on recycling this material. Have you investigated the recycle route? It will provide many Brownie points if you can find a recycler.:-)
