Hi All
Has any-one got a PPE Generic risk assessment I could have please.
I am just putting together a PPE assessment for RPE and want to make sure I have not left anything out.
If any asbestos experts out there have got one for RPE and Overalls I would be most grateful.
Regards
Naomi

Naomi,

The type and use of PPE/RPE is mandated in the asbestos regs, ACoP and Guidance.

In essence you must wear Type 5/6 Fibreproof coveralls and a Mask either full Face Powered or 1/2 mask with a FFFP3 Filter attached. The type of mask you wear depends on the 'ACM Type' and the 'expected fibre release'.

Footwear must also be easily cleaned with no laces any gloves you may use are also once use and bin them after.

For Licensed removal this would almost always be a full face and for non-licensed a 1/2 mask.

All used overalls / Filters and rags etc must be disposed of as Haz Waste using EWC code 15 02 02 using 'approved' UN waste Bags Double wrapped.

You can always email me if you want any other info as I work for a 'Licensed Contractor'
