Help is needed please.
One of my clients has received a sales circular warning him that condensate from his compressed air system is now classed as hazardous under the 2005 Regs.
Is this correct and, if it is, how would he deal with it?

If the condensate becomes contaminated with oil or a similar product then it would be classified as hazardous. If it is clean condensate then I can't see that it would be. The options really would be to speak with the waste disposal company your client uses and/or take a sample and test to see what is in it. If you have any more info and need further help happy to assist if I can.

what I have done locally is to fit an oil/ water separator. This allows the oil to separate from the condensate and is run off to a collection vessel and the water is simply allwed to run off.

Would recommend them to contact the company that carries out the servicing of their compressed air plant.
