Posted By Seano If it is a low risk environment then a fire risk assessment course should be completed. If it is higher risk then experience and higher level qualifications will need to be sought.

Posted By Jimmy R For a low risk environment I don't believe any great deal of additional training would be required. A higher risk environment however would require site specific training on the relevant risks / hazards.

Posted By Tracey C Hi Lulu I think it is experience that most people need rather than a qualification. I have completed the Dip SHEM which covered the new RRO ect but my collegue who has only completed his Nebosh General Cert deals with fire every day and has built his knowledge up so much he sometimes knows more than some of the fire officers that attend site.
I have found that knowing more about the buidling Regs and how the building should act during a fire and human behaviour of our clients. So basically the more you get involved the more you learn, the basics we can all learn from a book and lectures but the practicals are the key!
Hope this helps T
