I would like to set up a robust visitor register/pass system - could anyone recommend a tried and tested system.

Quite simple really, get a sign in system and ensure employees being visited remain responsible for the person when on site. And get a sign in system and of course a briefing arrangement outlining the risks that visitors face and how they will be expected to behave when on site. If you have any particularly dangerous sites then the briefing must be tailored to cover the risks arising from that activity. Do you follow my thoughts, quite simple really.

Grumpy...there are a number of systems on the market, it really depends how sophisticated you want to be, and how much you want to spend.

The biggest problem you will face is the staff using it. Any system is only as good as the people using it no matter how intricate.

We use a paper system from a company called Count-Up Ltd. It works well enough for us but I know others like computer based gizmos, it really depends on your industry and security levels you are trying to maintain.

Cheers,
Mark

Hello Grumpy,

Check out a company called Welcome Gate www.welcomegate.co.uk.

They are specialists in visitor management and photo id systems and recommend all the major brands independantly so they should be able to give you an honest solution to meet your needs.

Good luck!
