Hi All
Where you have a plant and it is mandatory to wear hearing protection does that mean that anyone who enter's the plant has to wear some sort of protection no matter what the duration of their stay is (the noise level is above 85db all day)
for example if an office worker has to enter the plant for approx 5 minutes does he/she have to wear them every time they enter

As I understand it , the answer is yes, the employee does not have an option not to wear the hearing protection when the noise level exceeds 85 db(a)

Yes, everyone should wear hearing protection every time they enter a hearing protection zone, no matter how short their intended stay.
