Posted By Garry Adams To the Forum and especially to those members that took time out to comment on the thread I posted on the osh discussion forum on 22/05/2007, " Government Committs to Oil and Gas Academy " to view the original Posting, search archive Garry Adams. Firstly, May I take this opportunity to post an up-date for the benefit of interested parties. As we all know the wheels of Government turn very slowly, however, I received a communique from the House of Commons yesterday morning (18/09.07). Below is a direct transcript of the communique. Quote, Dear Mr Adams, Just thought I would write to give you a heads up that quite a lot of progress has been made with regard to establishing an oil and gas skills academy. It is likely that industry will fund such an academy to be based in Aberdeen. As yet I don't have any more details, as I understand the proposal is still to be fully worked out, but there is likely to be an official announcement in the coming months. with best wishes. yours sincerely Anne Begg M.P. Aberdeen South...End Quote. My remit is to establish a Faculty of Scaffolding; Rigging and Rope access Techniques
