Advice sought

Is there any specific PPE /cleaning material which should be used when cleaning up Human Faeces. We have a problem whereby some "nice individuals" are smearing human faeces all over the public toilets (which we clean).

Not a nice subject I know.

Hi,
in most water and sewage utilities, it is common practice to remove the stuff using a high pressure water jetting machine. Obviously staff have to use disposable waterproof overalls (with a close fitting hood, wellington boots, gauntlet type PVC gloves, face and respipratory protection.

After removal, walls / floors are then brush-washed with Sodium Hypochlorite solution (14%-15%):also known as "Chlorous". It is important NOT to use or mix with any acid containing cleaning products as toxic Chlorine gas will be generated.
