Hi everyone
Out of intrest I am asking this question. I know roofers use lead in the valleys etc of the roofs at times, they roll it out to use it, as they are working with lead what are they suppose to do, ie any special regulations etc?

Chance of a fall is the main problem, but I would like your knowldege on the lead itself

Thanks

In the UK, the Lead Regs would apply and a risk assessment would be required.

The only legislation I can find dates from 1988: http://www.irishstatuteb...und=18&query_rule=%28%28$query3%29%29%3Alegtitle&query3=lead&docid=18733&docdb=SIs&dbname=Acts&dbname=SIs&sorting=none&operator=and&TemplateName=predoc.tmpl&setCookie=1

You could try the HSA: www.hsa.ie.

Seamus.

Roofers work with lead cold.

Hence any exposure to lead fume or dust etc is minimal. Much greater risks arising from manual handling [and as you have indicated falls from heights]

Don't forget the risk of ingestion from dirty hands.
