Dear Retail Safety Gurus,

I am hoping to join your ranks. As such, I have been given an assignment as part of a job selection process and I need to get up-to-speed (pronto!) on the issues surrounding H&S in the retail sector. My knowledge is limited in this area but I may find my career moving in this direction and I want to get my competence up asap..

If anyone can point me in the right direction for good sources of information, that'd be grand.

I am hoping to put together a 'mini-audit'/inspection checklist that could be used in a retail environment to cover front of house and back room functions (not logistics/warehousing).....the sort of thing that would give managers the right pointers for checking their own stores.

I have done a pretty extensive list already (violence, ST&F, MH, etc) but it all seems a bit generic and I am sure that their must be some issues that are specific to retail, that a novice would struggle to imagine.

All information/advice/pointers are
gratefully accepted.

Thanks in advance!
