CITB picked up a huge chunk of our costs to get some of our employees up to NVQ standard.

We also have a training plan with CITB that pays so much for external and internal H&S training, however costs for the touch screen test and cards, we could not reclaim any costs.

Hi Dan,

its not CSCS, its CITB or construction skills, or whatever they are called this week. if you are a construction company, registered with them, you can claim grants for training. they will also pay you a grant for producing and completing a yearly training plan for the company. Bear in mind though that if you are a large ish company you are obliged to pay them a levy in relation to the size of your wage bill.

You can be registered but the levy only applies to companies with a wage bill of £73000 or more.

'For construction to continue thriving, we need a fully trained, skilled workforce. To help make this happen the industry and Government ask CITB-ConstructionSkills to collect an annual levy from all liable construction employers. This levy can then be used for training the workforce and helping build the industry's long term future'

quote from the CITB website

look at

for all the info.

hope that helps
