Posted By GavinR We are currently selling a used standby generator to another firm for reuse/resale. We have completed a current puwer assessment and identifed certain safety issues that we are informing the purchaser of that need attention as per the PUWER require they to. We feel we are doing everything we need to in order to comply with Section 7 of Health and Safety at Work Order 1978 (NI). The question we have is that the generator pre-dates the Supply of Machinery Regs as it was built in 1987 so there is no CE Marking or Declaration of Conformity. In 1997 we completed some refurbishment work to the generator by replacing the enclosure with sound damping unit and upgrading the controls from manual to semi-automatic controls. The question we have is would this change to the control system now bring us back into the scope of the Supply of Machinery Regs due to the refurbishment and the requirement to have it CE Marked and Declaration of conformity?
